Johnny Rockets Burger.. Now in the Philippines!

Today is the first day of Johnny Rockets here in the Philippines so I decided to be there together with my friends! This page will tell you our experience in this Burger Cafe I hope you'll get something out of it. This page will still be edited to add our actual pictures so stay tuned.

Johnny Rocket's Burger
Burger Cafe
Originally started in Melrose Avenue
in Los Angeles,  California
Now in Eastwood Mall, Eastwood City Bagumbayan Q.C.
In front of Stackers and beside the 1800 Bldg.

The Venue

September 25, 2009 at 11Am the doors were open. As expected, the seats were all taken inside the shop, but luckily there were still available seats outside. Since they just opened, the maintenance dudes were still setting up the air-cool fans outside. The location is ideal due to heavy foot traffic and is also close to other restaurants in Eastwood Mall. Although I was not able to get in, I was able to catch a glimpse of the inside. The place has the bar-like counters where you can sit in front overlooking the kitchen. It kinda reminds me of what I usually see in the movies where the scene is in a diner.

The Crew

The crew provided great service in making you feel accommodated in the store. When we arrived I asked to be seated inside and the waitress sincerely apologized and offered to have us seated inside if there would be available seats. I liked the way she offered it so it is a plus point for customer service! I did a few research about their store and from what I read, the crew entertains the guests once in a while by doing a dance number. So I asked the waitress if they really dance, the waitress said "Yes we do sir!" they do it every 30 minutes! So it is a fact!

The waitress that served us gave an impression that she is more than happy to accomodate us and very friendly indeed. She is definitely well versed in doing customer service and it seems they are not just a waitress judging by how they speak. They definitely have a good command in the english language.

I observed how other customers are served and saw some of the waiters picking a conversation while on the other table, I saw the tall bald manager serve their food with enthusiasm. You can see the sincerity of this guy in serving the food to his customers and even cared to know to whom the food should be served. I never saw such service where this manager smiled and politely said, "Enjoy the food." Since we Filipinos are used to getting our foods served on our tables like as if no one was there, these customers were shocked for like 3-5 seconds before they went along with what they were talking about.

The waitresses looked good in their uniforms. I think because they look pretty and cute as well hehe.. plus.. very charming dance moves!

The Food

We ordered  the Original Burger, the #12 Burger, the Route 66 Burger, the perfect brownie sundae, the fries and the chocolate shake.

The chocolate shake was the best! If you remember the chocolate fudge sundae of Jollibee, it tasted like 85% of the sweet chocolatey fudge diluted in crushed ice and cream on top.

The burgers were good. We just didn't like the bun. The bun tasted like the bread bought from a local Aling Bebang's Bakery. In short, it's just a normal bread. I don't know if its just with the burgers that we ordered, it just did not reach our expectations. The Burgers were just big. One thing worth mentioning though is the patties, the patties were pure beef and oozing with deliciousness. This must be the signature of Johnny Rockets.

As for the perfect brownie sundae, THIS exceed our expecations. It was bigger than what was on the menu. It was all good and chocolatey. The brownie tasted nearly like chocolate cake. Marvelous.

The Price

If my memory serves me right, the Original Burger costs about P285, the  #12 Burger P365. The Route 66 Burger P465 and the Chocolate Shake, P215. The Brownie Sundae I think was P285. The prices aren't really friendly to the masses. A high social lifestyle burger shop that for the likes of me won't be back for a month or 2.

The Price vs. Food

My opinion, too expensive. I didn't really expect that. Not being biased and I know it is too early to judge, Stackers is better so far.

Pros
  • Great venue and good ambience.
  • Great customer service and entertainment.
  • Delicious burger patties!
  • Great chocolate shakes!
Cons
  • Too expensive.
  • Boring burger buns.

My Recommendation

The customer service and entertainment provided by the crew is what I think will make customer's go back to this burger shop. If they were to improve the buns of their burgers, I think they will topple the burger ranks of Stackers and Wendy's Burger. The price plays a vital role for its customer's to come back so I think this is the not so good side of this burger shop.

Eat at your own purse's risk.

Follow up: Why in front of Stackers? Head on competition maybe?

Niche Update..

Had a Bad day at work today,, too many arrogant customer's today. Blazing with Arrogance and burning with unequalled stupidity. Anyways.

I am thinking of starting a new thread in my blog. It's about PC games, online or offline. It is my interest so why not make it the soul of my blog? Hopefully I get updates about games like an early bird so that my readers will find my blog useful.

I can't wait to go home and play H.A.W.X. by TOM CLANCY. You get to play as a fighter plane pilot and use more than 20 modern fighter planes like the F18, F22, Stealth Bombers and the like. I can't wait to use the fastest airspeed manned aircraft, the Blackbird. An insane Mach 3.2 speed, I wonder how it feels...

Chillax my dear readers, this blog is yet a baby.. I shall deliver.

Dreams that oughtta be reached.. A little dose of inspiration.

I have always been engaged into the arts eversince I was born. At the age of 5, I learned how to dance and sing. It was during these times that I was screaming my lungs out singing along Michael Jackson Songs and imitating his dance moves from my Tito's MJ Laserdisc collection(yes, it was still laserdiscs back then!)

I was a member of a band way back in High School, I was on Rythm and Vocals. I suggested the band name Onesimus and my band mates thought it was cool. Until they found out I just got it from a Clothing Manufacturer's name. Bilib na sana sila saken asteeg daw eh! They changed the name to something else I don't remember.. Basta baduy at jologs yung pinalit nila..

Close to that timeline, I joined the Holy Family Consort Choir.  I am entirely grateful for all the things I learned from this choir. Everything about Music I learned it from them. I learned so much that I became worthy of joing Polytechnic University of the Philippines Bagong Himig. Concert experience, singing for the Lord, I did that all with these groups. From these choirs, I would like to point out what I wish that could have been for me.

The HFSC was a great choir because of 4 pillars in the group. They became the foundation of the group and they are the ones who make the choir sound really well up to competition level. I think it is destiny that they met each other and made a good chemistry in terms of friendship. In a choir, it is important that the group should be bonded like as if they are family so that they can sing as one and produce music that I would describe as heart-melting and groundshaking music. These 4 pillars achieved that level of music because they are one in every way. One might sing a simple note and it will then be followed by the other until all of them starts to turn the heads of people along the way! It was all because of the good chemistry of their friendship.

The PUP Bagong Himig shared the same type of chemistry as our mentors have shown us. They passed down the word, "bonding" to us when we were still trainees of the group because they believe the same principle in HSFC. Being one. The mentors of this group tremendously displayed how powerful their bonding are and how great the music they can produce as one, which is definitely heart-melting and jaw dropping. Very inspiring indeed.

In my point of view,  not just these choirs practice the good chemistry of bonding and friendship, but it is all throught every industry whether in the field of music or not. On this note, I am focusing on the music/entertainment industry. This is the very foundation why popular boybands, rockbands, choirs and all are succesful.

It has been a dream for me that the day would come, that I will be with musically inclined fellas who will share with me a good chemistry of friendship, form a group and create our own music and be succesful like the famous groups in our time.

In line with that, if there is anyone musically inclined reading this blog of mine, contact me we'll form a group and work our way to the red carpet!!!!

This whole blog thought came about while I was listening to the Acafella's (Man in the Mirror and Beatles Medley) thanks for the inspiration Acafella's

Deception due to Technology

A few hours back, while I was doing my usual thing, taking calls, talking to a customer, I received a message thru my yahoo messenger that totally blew my mind. I saved a screenshot of it and I think you'll have to click on the picture to see it bigger. I edited the picture to block some of the informations there to protect their privacy and whatever information not needed to deliver my message in this blog.

Some notes to consider though, before you read the screenshots. Click on the image to view the larger and readable version.

Cast of Characters:

The Moh - Me(obviously)
The SW - The mysterious YM ID (intentionally abbreviated)
Mine - Name I call my wifey
a_h - Another mysterious YM ID (intentionally abbreviated)

Here is the First Conversation:
At this point, all I know is I am only talking to my wifey whom I know is just playing with me. Dual personality kuno. I really snapped. Got furious.

Another YM message came up but this time, it is officially from my wife. Of course, by this time I am still furious as to what she did on the last conversation. To my surprise, she was surprised at my reactions as if she didn't really intend to pretend that she does not know me.

Now this is surprising, the unfolding of the dilemma..
This time, a different YM id, and this time, I still think this is my wifey not until she mentioned "Gay ka nu?..etc.." "sabihan ba daw ng bading?? Buti na lang nagreact ako at nalaman ko ang katotohanan." So it turns out this person is someone I don't know and right at this moment, I realized I've been talking to someone I dont know for roughly 30 minutes!!

Just to wrap it all up. This incident is a clear problem with the network provider. My wifey was sending me IM's thru her mobile phone and our network provider is SUN Cellular. She just started using the new service imessenger. Unfortunately, 2 people are receiving my messages because they are being reflected under one ID. Apparently this ID is not owned by either of them, but of ONE MORE PERSON. It  didn't stop there though. One more ID popped me a message which is the a_h ID and the person talking under that is NOT THE OWNER of the a_h ID.

I apologize for the bad words that I have mentioned on the people I've spoken with, please understand that I was provoked by a system problem of Sun Cellular's messaging system.

So what did I get out of this? Nothing, it just took my mind off my job for the rest of my shift. I leave the rest of the shinenigans to you dear readers.

Our everyday living in my point of view.

Funny as it seems that we can even call ourselves Robots in some way.. We wake up, we eat  we work and then we sleep. the day after that its the same. All of these on a routinary basis eveyday. So why is that so? I don't know the exact answer but this is just my opinion on the subject.

""Life is short, Make the most out of it.""
I've been hearing and reading this a lot for quite some time now and hell yeah, it does make sense. It is like a wake up call to each and everyone of our boring lives. Think about it. Are we just going to spend our lives doing the same freakin' thing everyday???

duhh,, OF COURSE!!
Alanganamang di ka na kumaen bukas??di ka na maligo?? at di ka na matulog at gumising pa!

....but that is beyond the point.

We strive to put some sugar, spice and everything nice to our lives! Who would want a boring, redundant life!?

In my point of view, people are driven by a certain objective that requires repetitive actions.
  • People who always eat and eat and eat, they want to be fat or maybe ease out the stress wala na tayo pakelam dun!
  • Those who always take a bath and smother their faces with beauty treatments, they want to smell good and be beautiful!
  • Those who drink and drink! They want to get drunk!
  • For the workaholics! More work come to them! este, money pala!
  • and the list goes on..

But what about this, just a contradiction, people are said to be stubborn when it comes to change. so what gives?? It is off topic. hehe..

I don't even understand why I spent 7 hours thinking what to say in this blog and spent 30minutes typing this all in.

My honest opinion: All these redundant things are necessary, for the sake of maintaining our biological bodies, for us to achieve what our hearts have ever wanted and to fulfill the goals of our lives.A redundant thing that gives you nothing at the end is worthless. We do all this because we know at the end, it is all gonna be worth it.

Again, this is our everyday living in my point of view..

Shaping of a blog landscape

What I am doing is a clear product of being influenced by the top bloggers of our country, 20% of it. The remaining 80%, I would say is all made up of curisoity, excitement and willpower.

It is indeed hard to do blogs if you don't really know where to start. I might already be doing it, but I am just giving it a shot. Why not write what is running in my head?

Niche, a field of specialty. Yup, so whats my niche? Akala ko dati yan yung parang sa burol... you know

The Niches that I have thought writing about and why:
  • Food and Restaurants - In hopes of getting a free meal.
  • Tech Reviews - Free gadget?
  • Travel - Free travel package, hotel accomodation and a DSLR camera maybe?
  • Politics - To be known publicly. (In a Good or Bad way... it doesnt matter)
  • Showbiz - Hoping for my looks and talent to be recognized in the showbiz industry hehe..wat da hell...
I know there's a lot out there but this is all that I am familiar with so far.

Thinking about this has caused me to daydream a lot..

Will I achieve what Jayvee Fernandez and Abe Olandez achieve like all the fame and money?
Doing talks and seminar for others and get paid for it...
Buy a car out of blogging..
Be a guest on one of the famous talk shows on TV..
....and a lot more!

I can't help but think of what may happen in the future if I don't start blogging today.. Eh kung ngayon pa lang eh madame dame na ren ang nagboblog, pano pa kaya bukas?? It is like the call center industry just beginning to bloom.

I have to gain reputation and experience as early as possible. I want to achieve that 6 digit income simply just through blogging!

Kasalanan lahat to ng TrendLabs BlogConf..!!

Kung di dahil dun asa bahay na ko't natutulog!!

The best of luck for me.. sana magtuloy-tuloy..

Blogging without thought - Friends for Sale in Facebook.

I am wrtiting about what I see prominent in the news feed of my facebook. All because this is what I saw.. People are starting to buy and sell friends in facebook! what the heck... can this be labeled as human trafficking??

In my view, I think these guys are looking for friends, making fun of their friends and uhh feed their ego. Having this guy/girl as your pet(so-it's-called) how cool is that? I think you can make them do whatever you want them to do like ask them to clean the bathroom, walk the dog etc.. I dont know the rest but I have the application installed on my FB profile though, I just dont pay much attention to it, just have my friends buy me thats all! hehe.. just for the heck of it.

Is it just for fun?? expression of greed?? or something else? atleast that is something for the stalkers.. hehe...Only the users can tell.. hehe...

It has been awhile... blogger.com

It is amazing that the fire of interest in blogging started with me way back November of 2007, and then died March of 2008. And now, after 2 sessions on the very first trend labs blog conference the fire has started burning once again.

Jayvee Fernandez of abuggedlife.com and Abe Olandres of Yugatech paid us a visit here to do some talks about blogging. I tell ya,, I learned a lot. I posted a blog in facebook and instead of rewriting, I'll copy and past it here. Here it is:

September 15, 2009 12:51pm

"I must say, that blogcon did influence me about writing a blog. I have been pondering whether or not I should blog or not. Thanks to Jayvee Fernandez(abuggedlife.com)
, he laid all the cards about blogging and what you can get from blogging. I never thought there is money in blogging hehe.. now I'm interested. ba't ngayon ko lang nalaman to? waahh!

Well anyways, Blogcon was last week, ever since then I kept thinking about writing, too lazy to do so until now.

It is interesting to know how powerful a blog is and its impact to the people who read. This made me think about blogging our experience with the customer service reps of GLOBE and SUN and how BAD the service we always get from them when we call. In this way, our voices will be heard and will be the key to make something bad into something good. It's awareness. hehe..

Before, I used to think BLOGS are for EMO's diaries about how dramatic and retarded life is for them.. Hindi pala. It is just about freedom of expression. What's great about it is, there are no rules. Jayvee also mentioned, you don't have to blog like everyday.. it really depends on you. Like he's style, he just blogs when he feels like it. I think that's what I'll do as well.

I don't really care if anyone reads this note or not, It's just me writing my thoughts. I checked on this blog site and I was definitely amused siempre xe puro kalokohan, sabe ko, kaya ko den to, KALOKOHAN eh!? wat da hek.. the site is http://tunaynalalake.blogspot.com/

Tomorrow is another session of Blogcon, this time the speaker is MR. Abe Olandes of Yugatech. He will talk about blogging for techy people. Exciting indeed! Bagong Kaalaman!

haayy,, punyeta

Moh"

I apologize, I have not learned yet the K.I.S.S. principle. apologies for the long blog. I'll do my best next time... sometime soon, I should be able to choose what my niche is and start blogging.
